Hey everyone.
So. It’s been a long two and a half weeks. There’s been some life stuff and some fandom bullshit.
To be brief on the life stuff, my work announced that we will be required to return to the office twice a pay period starting tomorrow. I’m not happy about this, as numbers have been rising, and masking isn’t required (or, honestly, being encouraged in any way). This is causing my family a lot of stress, as we’ve been careful for over two years, masking every time we leave the house, and now this could put the last two years in jeopardy. We’ve avoided COVID for two years, watch that change next Monday (my required day in office).
As for fandom bullshit, I have officially walked away from the 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lonestar communities, after being accused of something that I am absolutely not. I don’t want to go into detail because I don’t want to drive the pitchforks and torches this direction.
The big thing is, this resulted in me deleting every one of my 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lonestar fics off of AO3. This… well, was not a good moment for me, because I may have been crying while doing it. I just wanted to avoid getting attacked by people who… well, are jerks.
This is going to be absolutely detrimental to my kudo project, as I removed over two thirds of the fics featured on it. I could have orphaned the fics, but I couldn’t think of doing so. Instead, this is what will be happening.
There are certain fics that I still feel comfortable having, so those will be posted somewhere on this blog at some point (not sure when). I also will be cutting off the majority of my kudo project as of yesterday, June 20th, as that will be the most accurate margin. I’ll still keep it up through the end of the year as there are other fics featured, but it won’t be nearly as accurate. I guess I’ll just have to live with just under six months of data.
The stats of the removed fics:
- 109 Fics (9-1-1, 9-1-1 Lonestar, and crossovers combined)
- 154247 total words, not including author notes
- 721 comments
- 13460 kudos total
- 1662 bookmarks
- 171588 hits
Yeah… this hit hard.
Anyway, if you couldn’t tell, this has taken a bit of a toll on me. I had to step back for a bit and figure out what I wanted to do and what trajectory to aim. I’m still in the planning stages, so don’t be surprised if there is more delays in posts. By July, I hope to be back to a normal posting schedule (what that may be remains to be seen).
Once I know what I’m doing next, I’ll be deleting this post, just FYI.
Thank you for your patience. It’s been a roller coaster.
Until next time.
June 26, 2022 Update:
So, things have somewhat changed. I’ve actually decided to repost a good chunk of my fics. Not all of them, but a goodly amount. In all actuality, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I’ll be making a full post in the next couple of days with a recap.
Thank you so much for your patience. I have a lot left to say. ❤️
