For the past several months, after beating Lego Dimensions, I got really burned out on video games. I had just spent two months playing the same game, and I guess I just needed a break from everything.
Over the past few days, however, I’ve started to get back into it. I’m not pushing it, just playing some easy games. And I’m enjoying it again.
So, video game burn out is just like any other type of burnout. And taking time is totally allowed.
I ended up playing one of my favorite type of games to get me back into the mood to play: hidden picture games. I’ve played every game released by the production company Artifex Mundi that is available on Playstation. It’s a fun simple type of game. This company has made a bunch of them, with semi-decent stories and terrible voice acting all around. It’s good clean fun.
I also started playing through Final Fantasy XV, but I’m honestly not sure if I’m going to continue right now. I’m not really in the mood for a giant game right now. I know the story from Youtube videos, but I just don’t think I can really get into it right now. It’s the same with Marvel’s Avengers and Persona 5 Royal.
Instead I’m gonna stick to some one/two session games when I play. I don’t want to tie myself to another big game. I may play some Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but I’m not going to rush it (since the next game got delayed until next year anyway).
Well, that’s my gaming update. I’m still gaming, but nowhere near as much. Taking that step back was actually a good thing. And now I can come back and play again.
Until next time!
